The "Old Coots on Scoots" is a
Historic Sanctioned Chapter of the AMA, Sanction #6911. It was founded in 1947 by George Harris Tucker, for the sole purpose
of just having fun while riding motorcycles with friends. G.H. Tucker rode with the group until his death in 1951. George's
son, Dan, restarted "The Old Coots on Scoots" in 1984 in Santa Rosa, California. There are now 64 active Chapters
all over the world, and still growing. All members are Life Time Members, as once you are an Old Coot you will always be an
"OLD COOT".
Rather than a "motorcycle club", we are a group of mostly older riders, men and women that
just enjoy riding; we have no desire for any more rules, or regulations in our lives. There is no membership committee, there
is no electoral body, and there is no special funding and no requirement to attend any meetings because we don't have
meetings, and no mandatory rides. The Old Coots on Scoots Organization requires safety and courtesy from all members
and guests during rides or get togethers. Participation in any ride or get together is strictly voluntary. Each rider
will be responsible for riding his or her own ride. The Ride Leader or Coordinator will not be responsible
for the actions of the members or guests. No rider will ever be asked to ride in an unsafe manner or do anything
unlawful. We only ask that you remember your actions, GOOD or BAD, reflect on the entire Old Coots on Scoots Organization.
Come ride with us whenever you like, just monitor our schedule
of rides on our forum for ride details.
